Radioactive Materials Safety

Training is required for persons who work with or around radioactive materials, including information about the regulations governing radiation safety, the potential hazards of radiation exposure, the means for controlling those hazards, and the importance of minimizing radiation exposures. To assist Authorized Supervisors of radiation sources in meeting this obligation, seminars and on-line tutorials discuss the nature of radioactivity, the health effects of radiation exposure, the means that one may use to reduce radiation exposure, and administrative aspects of the campus radiation safety program.

This online training session takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Analytical X-Ray Machine Safety

Seminars and on-line tutorial materials provide information about the operation of analytical x-ray machines, the health effects of radiation exposure, the means for reducing radiation exposure, and administrative aspects of x-ray safety of campus.

Laser Safety
